This village in Castellón is characterized by its mountains and it’s part of the township of Alcalá de Xivert. Alcossebre is located between the Azahar coast and the inland Maestrat region. Here the sea and the mountains come together to form contrasting landscapes. Along its ten kilometres of coastline there are five high quality beaches, along with various unspoilt coves. These Mediterranean waters are ideal for water sports.
Many different routes and footpaths run through the Sierra de Irta Mountains, Alcossebre's greatest nature area. Other interesting places are the L’Estany wetlands and the dunes to be found between El Carregador and La Romana beaches. Local gastronomy is also highly varied, with fish and rice dishes being some of its most outstanding examples.
